Absolute Energy publishes its 2025 Sustainability Report!

Absolute Energy has published its 2025 Sustainability Report, outlining the progress made over the past year and the principles guiding the development, construction and operation of its renewable energy assets.

The Report explains how the company is working to create long-term environmental, social and economic value through responsible project design, careful management of impacts and continued engagement with the communities where it operates.

In 2025, Absolute Energy invested €80 million in development, M&A activities and the construction of new plants. Its authorised portfolio now includes 458 MW of photovoltaic capacity, with long-term contracts already secured for 356 MW. Of this total, 284 MW were awarded through FER auctions, 22 MW relate to advanced agrivoltaic projects and 50 MW fall under the Energy Release mechanism. The portfolio also includes 1.4 GW of authorised battery energy storage systems.

The Luzzi photovoltaic plant, in the province of Cosenza, is one example of this approach. Built on the site of a former quarry, the plant has given a new productive use to land previously affected by extraction activities. With a capacity of around 10 MW, it is now producing renewable electricity and avoiding around 5,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions each year.

The construction phase was designed to limit the project’s impact on the surrounding area. A total of 98% of the excavated soil was reused on site, while local workers accounted for 38% of the workforce involved in civil and mechanical activities.

The project also includes measures to protect biodiversity and monitor ecological conditions over time. Its relationship with the local area extends beyond the plant itself through A Scuola di Biodiversità, an environmental education programme developed for nearby schools.

Absolute Energy is now applying the same approach to three further projects in its portfolio, combining renewable energy production with land regeneration, biodiversity protection and benefits for local communities.

The Report also describes how Absolute Energy strengthened its sustainability management in 2025. The company completed its first double materiality assessment and voluntarily began aligning its reporting with the EU Taxonomy and recognised European and international frameworks, including the GRI Standards and ESRS.
